Refresh Your Remote Work Routine with These Top WFH Spots in Stamford
Check out these popular spaces next time you're working remotely
STAMFORD — If you work from home, you know it’s helpful to have different places to use so you stay focused and productive with reliable WiFi (we’ve been there). In Stamford, there is no shortage of spots to work from.
“Stamford Downtown’s substantial residential growth and robust approach to placemaking has ensured that our city’s central neighborhood has plenty of places to work from home or work from other cool, non-office shared spaces so that our downtown daytime population has continued to grow,” Stamford Downtown President David Kooris said. “Transitioning away from a traditional Central Business District and to a mixed-use neighborhood has positioned Stamford Downtown into a regional and national leader in post-covid vibrancy and economic development.”
Some apartment complexes even provide office or working space as an amenity. However, it’s always nice to get outside and try some of the amazing choices available throughout Stamford. Let’s take a look.
Ferguson Library
For people who prefer a more of a quiet environment with publicly available resources, look no further than Ferguson Library, which is spread across five different locations in Stamford.
At the downtown DiMattia Building location, there are spots on multiple floors offering computer and printer access, tables with comfortable chairs, and even some private rooms that you can reserve in advance for private work or study sessions.
Pro Tip: they even host professional development classes to advance your career and skill set.
With several locations citywide, it’s no wonder that the Library is such a popular option for remote work.
Winfield Street Coffee
Embracing the location, Winfield packs a powerful punch with its menu offerings and convenient sitting areas for customers to grab a drink or bite –– or both –– and dig into their work.
Last year, they introduced duo Chris Gonzalez and Caleb MacPherson to lead the development of culinary and coffee options, and launched a new menu.
Fun Fact: This convenient space, which was previously a Starbucks franchise, even connects directly to the library branch next door.
Honey Joe’s Family Coffeehouse
Located downtown on Broad Street, this cozy spot and woman-owned business is perfect for anyone who enjoys a quieter environment while having some delicious drinks and other menu choices.
A Drop In Play area for kids is available (adult supervision required).
Fun Fact: the store is named after a “beloved teddy bear,” hence that part of the logo.
Lorca
This woman-owned small business on Broad Street has a lot to offer after more than a decade of serving customers. It was so adored that they had to expand a few years ago.
When ordering, be sure to check out their tasty assortment of homemade pastries to make the perfect collab with your drink order.
Fun Fact: the Spanish-inspired coffee shop was named after poet and writer Federico Garcia Lorca.
Third Place by Half Full Brewery
You have home, you have work, and then you have… Third Place. We know what you’re thinking — a brewery? Yes. But fear not. Half Full Brewery’s Third Place makes for a great destination during the day, too, so you can get in the zone. But if your heart desires, they do start serving drafts around noon (don’t worry, we won’t tell your boss).
They offer more than two dozen different tables as well as some cool phone booths (for any private calls or Zoom meetings) for you to choose from as well.
Fun Fact: dogs are welcome in the Beer Garden and other outdoor parts of the Brewery’s Third Place site.
Humbled Coffeehouse
Nestled in the Springdale neighborhood, there is Humbled, a coffee shop providing customers with a warm atmosphere and stellar service.
Among their menu items is a scrumptious banana bread, which can be warmed and served with butter, cream cheese, or Nutella. Yum!
If you need a quick break from work, don’t forget to check out House of Humbled, the attached retail boutique store.
Modern Love Coffee Roasters
Situated in Bull’s Head Shopping Center, Modern Love Coffee Roasters serves up a perfect combination of drink — among them some seasonal favorites — and food selections.
In addition to coffee, they also serve kombucha, wine, and more.
Pro Tip: sign up for their mailing list to receive useful coupons and timely updates.
Stamford Partnership x Shippan Landing
Another unique experience is offered in Shippan and hosted by the Stamford Partnership. This exciting opportunity allows local professionals to work near the water and maybe even connect with each other on projects.
