Concert Preview: Thursday, July 25
For the first week of Alive At Five, the rock group King Falcon will serve as the opening act. The New York City band formed in 2020 and is known for their hit song “When The Party Is Over.” After that, Alive At Five will continue with a performance by the ska alternative rock group Sublime with Rome at Mill River Park.
Sublime with Rome was inspired by the legendary rock band Sublime, which rose to fame in the 1990s. The tribute group was formed in 2010 by singer and guitarist Rome Ramirez and former Sublime members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh. However, Wilson and Gaugh have since exited.
As of June 2024, Ramirez is still the lead vocalist and guitarist. He is accompanied by Joe Tomino on drums and percussion, Brian Allen on bass and backup vocals, and Gabrial McNair on trombone and keys.
Sublime with Rome has successfully performed Sublime's original setlist over the years, featuring fan-favorite hits such as "Wrong Way," "Santeria," "Badfish," "What I Got," "Caress Me Down," and "40oz to Freedom." The band has also released their own original music, including the EP "Tangerine Skies" in late 2023, which was produced by Ramirez. According to Spotify, the band has 599,529 monthly listeners, with the most popular original song being "Take It Or Leave It" from their 2011 debut album "Yours Truly."
