Stamford Chamber Marking 30 Years of Taste of Stamford
Annual Gathering Will Celebrate City’s Rich Culinary Culture and Diverse Offerings
STAMFORD — Get ready for an evening of delicious foods and delectable drinks from many popular local businesses. The Stamford Chamber of Commerce’s Taste of Stamford event is back and celebrating three decades of collaboration, growth, and success across the city.
“As President & CEO of the Stamford Chamber, I have the opportunity to meet business owners every day who are following their dreams and are the backbone of our community,” the Stamford Chamber of Commerce’s Heather Cavanagh said in a press release. “Stamford continues to thrive as we are celebrating thirty great years of the Taste of Stamford and look at how the city has evolved attracting thousands of new residents that call Stamford home.”
To kick things off, a VIP Soiree, which already sold out, will be held on Thursday, February 22, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at The House rooftop location at The Village in Harbor Point. Music will be provided by James Daniel Entertainment, a DJ company from right here in Stamford.
Member tickets for $75 and public tickets for $85 are available on the Stamford Chamber’s website at stamfordchamber.com. Complimentary parking will be available, but all attendees must be at least 21 years old.
“I moved to Stamford in 1995. I immediately fell in love with our city, which at that time, only had a handful of restaurant options. Fast-forward 30 years later, the downtown is thriving with over 90 restaurants!” said Chamber Chairman Todd Lindvall, area general manager of Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott Stamford Downtown. “Congratulations to the Stamford Chamber of Commerce on celebrating its 30th Annual Taste of Stamford! I’m looking forward to what the next 30 years will bring!”

The first edition of the Taste of Stamford was held at the Stamford Marriott Hotel on April 2, 1993. “On June 10-11, 1994, due to popular demand, the event became a two-day taste sensation, still focused on sampling diverse cuisine, specialty cocktails and entertainment as in year's past the indoor evening event was held,” a recent Chamber press release stated. “A second event was added designed for fun for the entire family with an outdoor food festival in Veteran’s Park on June 11, 1994. McDonald’s characters, a giant T-Rex, face painting and exciting culinary experiences with family fun and live music from Robert James & The James Daniel Orchestra provided lively entertainment.”
