Summer Restaurant Weeks
Starting Monday, August 18, and continuing through Monday, September 1, many downtown eateries will offer delicious bites and drinks for customers of all ages.
According to an announcement from Stamford Downtown, around thirty popular Stamford restaurants will take part in this year’s edition of the Summer Restaurant Weeks initiative by providing exclusive prix fixe menus featuring some of the beloved selections.
“Stamford's city center has long been a destination for international faire. Our culinary offerings are one of the many elements that makes Stamford Downtown a local and regional destination. Bring your family and friends to sample European, East African, Central and South American, and Asian cuisine,” Stamford Downtown President Michael Moore said. “Bringing to light our dining scene is one of Stamford Downtown's highest priorities. See you in Downtown for Summer Restaurant Weeks!”
Lunch menus will range in price from $15–$20 and dinner menus will range from $30–$55. There will also be $15 special promotions available at some locations. The offers are valid for dine-in or direct take-out only and do not apply to third-party delivery platforms such as DoorDash, GrubHub, or UberEats.

Sidewalk Art Project
Creativity is now on display in the form of five new art installations on downtown sidewalks. The artwork was designed by local artist Chancellor Hayes, who goes by @8ballcreates on Instagram.
The five permanent murals are located at the following locations.
"Smile Here" at Kiwanis Park on Atlantic Street
"What Will You Read Today?" at the entrance to the Ferguson Library on Broad Street
"Jump" and "Kiss Here" in Columbus Park near the flagpole and on Washington Boulevard
"Playground Club" in Latham Park
“Public art is a powerful tool for placemaking. These sidewalk installations not only brighten our public spaces but also invite people to interact with their surroundings in creative and uplifting ways,” Stamford Downtown President Michael Moore said. “Chancellor’s work brings a sense of wonder and personality to Stamford Downtown, and we’re proud to have partnered with him on this meaningful project.”
A press release from Stamford Downtown noted that Hayes’s “signature style fuses vibrant color with playful direction” and that he “approached this project with energy, imagination, and deep care—transforming ordinary sidewalks into unexpected moments of joy.”
"It has been a pleasure collaborating with a young artist such as Chance on such a fun and meaningful project,” Stamford Downtown Director of Operations & Administration Cheryl Vukelic, who was project manager for the initiative with Hayes, said.
A permanent placemaking initiative by Stamford Downtown, the Sidewalk Art Project aims to promote connection among community members, promote local talent, and ensure that the city’s urban core remains vibrant.
All of the murals, the announcement said, were “thoughtfully designed to beautify sidewalks while encouraging spontaneous moments of delight.”
Nearby individuals, including residents, visitors, employees, and students are encouraged by Stamford Downtown to post photos with the artwork and tag them at @stamforddowntown to spread the word. The business development district plans to share many of the posts.
