Oink! Art in Public Places
More than two dozen porcine sculptures made of fiberglass and painted with various designs will soon be displayed throughout the downtown neighborhood for this year’s installment of public art, titled “Oink! Art in Public Places.”
The beloved annual series will run from Monday, June 2, to Friday, September 26.
Previous versions included exhibits like ArtNORMOUS; Duck, Duck, Goose; Space Invasion; Art Shapes; Dinosaurs Rule; and Horsin’ Around.
In a press release, Stamford Downtown shared more information about the 26 pigs. A few of the names are Sun-Swine, Piggie Stardust, Pig-casso, and Kevin Bacon. The sculptures, being painted by “some of the tri-state area’s most talented artists,” will be either sitting or standing.
Anyone interested in learning more about the pigs once they are on display can listen to an audio tour that will be available through the free Otocast app.
Among the 2025 sponsors are Block by Block; Cummings & Lockwood LLC; Eastern Land Management (ELM); George Comfort & Sons, Inc.; MarLo Associates, Inc.; M&T Bank; Pan Am Equities; Reckson; RXR; and Stamford Downtown.
